The Largest Outdoor 3 on 3 Tournament is here in Niagara Falls Ontario Canada!! On July 14/15, Street Hoops Canada will be playing host to all ages and skill levels at A.N. Myer highschool. There will also be a Free Throw, 3-Point, and Dunk competition open to all participants with $100 cash going to each winner! Along with great competition, there will be amazing food, beverage, and retail vendors available throughout the weekend. 

Three new General Motors vehicles rolled into Niagara College’s Motive Power Lab this morning, destined for many years as key learning tools in Niagara College’s Motive Power programs. The vehicles, a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, a 2018 Chevrolet Suburban and a 2018 Cadillac XTS, were generously donated to Niagara College by General Motors Canada to increase the hands-on learning opportunities offered to students. The three vehicles contain some of the most current automotive technologies employed in modern consumer cars, and will allow students to gain real-world experience diagnosing, fixing, and replacing these technologies.  

The future Niagara Falls GO Station neighbourhood now has a plan in place to manage its future surrounding land use and transportation improvements.  The Niagara Falls Transit Station Secondary Plan has now been approved by Regional Council. Provincial commitment to bring daily GO Rail service to Niagara Falls by 2023 is a significant investment that will provide transformational benefit to the community. The Province has selected the existing VIA Rail Station located on Bridge Street between Victoria Avenue and the Niagara Parkway as the confirmed Niagara Falls GO Station site.

With more and more farmers joining us on Saturday mornings from 8 to 1, there are so many delicious reasons to attend The Farmers' Market @ The Village this weekend.  We will have new potatoes, beets, radishes, sugar snap peas, greens, rhubarband more! As always, you can get your fill of freshly baked breads and sweets, jams, artisanal butter, and other delicious local items.

Niagara Regional Chair Alan Caslin and Mayor Doug Joyner, Public Health and Social Services Committee Chair, joined Niagara partners and community groups on Friday to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Niagara Prosperity Initiative (NPI).  Regional Chair Caslin also announced the 2018 recipients of Regional Council’s $1.5 million investment in 17 deserving projects.

The Rose City Seniors Centre Foundation Board awarded $1,000 bursaries to each of the four recipients.  Congratulations ladies.

The Elementary Teachers Federation has once again provided a timely donation to support student nutrition programs in school across Niagara.  The $7,500 donation will include paying for much needed equipment and supplies needed to ensure a high level of standard in preparing, storing and serving nutritious food. In addition, the donation paid for a hot breakfast at Sir Winston Churchill and will be repeated at a school in Niagara Falls in September, along with a fall donation of apples to elementary schools.

This initiative, supported by the Town's Active Transportation Committee, has been designed to engage the community and promote active and healthy lifestyles.
