Share Peace Discover Niagara River Open Ceremony
Niagara Military Museum and Seedling for Change in Society and Environment. We hereby invite representatives of the media to cover the opening ceremony of the Share Peace, Discover Niagara River event, which will take place in Niagara Military Museum on September 14th, 2017 from 19:00 to 21:30.
Join us in Niagara Falls, Canada for a celebration entitled "Share Peace, Discover Niagara River" (recipient of the 2017 Niagara Falls City Cultural Development Grant) which commemorates the Peace Conference of 1914 which took place in Niagara Falls, Canada, the first diplomatic mediation event of its kind to ever take place during the modern period on the American continent. This event was of importance to Mexico and the United States, and more broadly Latin America as representatives from the ABC powers at the time, Argentina, Brazil, and Chile mediated to prevent Mexico and the United States from going to war.
The project comprises a lectures series, a walking photographic street circuit displaying photographs submitted by residents of Niagara Falls and/or visitors, and street art and a large-scale murals painted by children. The project was launched on the 150 Canada Day Celebration and will wrap up in November. It will involve Brock students, partner organizations, and local residents.
The lectures will be held Thursday, Sept. 14, 21, 28, and Oct. 5, 2017 from 19:00 to 21:30 with opening and closing ceremonies on the first and final dates.
All events are free and open to the public. Niagara Military Museum is the main venue. We hope we can welcome you at the events 5049 Victoria Ave, Niagara Falls
